NO! you can use the Fitbit,Oura Ring, Ultrahuman Ring any device that tracks you heart rate, speed, GPS etc. For simplicity before purchasing your device make sure it says it measures TDEE or total daily calorie expenditure! All the information in the PDF will be very usefull regardless if you have an Apple Watch or not! but you need a device!

Can I just use my iPhone not Apple Watch?
